About

This FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Independent Study Course (IS-36.A: Preparedness for Child Care Providers) will provide child care providers, in a variety of settings, with the information they need to identify, assess, and plan for hazards at their child care site. Note: This course is NOT the ECELS Emergency Preparedness in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program Self-Learning Modules (Parts 1-3). FEMA is a federal government agency responsible for coordinating responses to emergencies and disasters, and it provides training and resources through their Emergency Management Institute (EMI) to help individuals and organizations prepare for various types of emergencies. While this is an older and separate course from the upcoming ECELS modules, ECELS can still offer professional development (PD) credit for your completion of the FEMA course.
